Cutting off drivers can cost you | Dash Cam Derby Video

Cutting in may be accepted on the dance floor but it’s downright dangerous on the road.

It can lead to a collision, a traffic ticket, road rage, or almost anything else.

The remedy is courtesy. The Florida Highway Patrol says drivers should hold back, create a space and wave at someone who’s trying to change lanes safely. Likewise, if you are allowed to change lanes in front of another driver, give them a thank-you wave, troopers said.

Florida law states you must use turn signals to change lanes, you cannot pass another vehicle on the right and then enter their lane, or drive along the shoulder of a road to cut in. You also can not cut into a line of cars waiting to exit a roadway.
