Florida’s two top basketball players have been named to the Parade All-American High School Boys Basketball Team.
Jermaine Walker of Ely and Lucas Barnes of South Miami, both first team Class 6A All-State selections, were recognized by the magazine.
Barnes, a 6-foot-6 forward, was named to the second team. Walker, a 6-7 forward, was named to the third. Both are headed to the University of Miami.
Walker, a four-year varsity starter, led the Tigers to a 31-2 record, averaging 25 points a game (best in Broward).
Barnes, named Florida’s Mr. Basketball, averaged 31 points, 11 rebounds and five assists for the Cobras, who went 31-4 and finished as the Class 6A state runnerup.
