Palm Beach County residents calling the Treasure Coast — Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties — must dial a 772 area code starting today.
Though the Treasure Coast switched to the 772 area code in February, callers were given nine months to continue using the 561 area code. Today, callers who do not punch 772 will hear a recorded message telling them of the change. Callers must redial the number with the new area code.
